Ah. I see. I can definitely see how some people would find it weird that this is the bad behavior you're documenting when there's lots of other stuff going on. Perhaps an issue of context and timing. No excuse for death threats; It's a missed opportunity. but this is twitter

I thought you said that reaction was to you posting the video? People were telling you these things before you posted the video? I wish that these ppl realized that not only are they talking to ppl, but that their behavior makes any kind of real convo HARD

...what video? I tweeted that complaining about catcalling was maybe racist cause ppl who catcall are predominantly black. Then people brigaded me with hate. Then I recorded who catcalled me after that to actually track the racial distribution.

Sorry, I think I lost the thread. I understand now. I also found the tweet. "Most men who catcall are black" is probably not only factually wrong, but a racist thing to say. No, I'm not calling you a racist. I don't know you. I hope that the distinction is meaningful for you.

I utterly reject the entire frame that classes the thing I said as racist. I don't think like that, operate like that, and I consider it meaningless when applied to me.

I get that. I wish that I was able to leverage more convincing arguments. I reiterate that I don't know how you think or operate. I don't claim to. All I know for certain is what you said. It's almost certainly factually incorrect, because math, but you said it anyway

I looked super hard for stats but there aren't any concrete ones about this. I did find that black women are much more likely to be catcalled, and given that black women are around black men more, this seems to possibly support my point. Also I record ppl who catcall me now.
