I'm honestly kinda shocked at how little people seem to be interested in really understanding Trump voters. Maybe cause you can't hate that which you fully understand?

What is there to understand? These are not complicated people that make measured decisions about the world around them. These are people that are fueled by fear and/or hatred. What I don’t understand is why so many people seem to think the world is failing these people somehow.

How are they fueled by fear and hatred any more than the left is?

Is grant a serious question? Have you heard of the Q-Anon movement? Did you forget the build the wall campaign? Jailing Mexican immigrants in camps? The constant talk about BLM and Antifa rioting and looting? Constant calls for law and order? That’s their whole game.

You can make a pretty similar list about the left

It comes down to basic ideology. Dem ideology at its core is about protecting average working class people. Rep ideology is about stripping rights and protections away from poor and middle class people and protecting the rich.

Yeah in my opinion you are extremely off about this. Almost no trump supporters would agree with you.

Of course they wouldn’t agree, they obviously view the world from the perspective of a different planet entirely

Right, and you can't understand them until you can see it from their planet.

I think both of you are letting your backgrounds/upbringing blind you from seeing these people for who they really are. Also seeing things from their perspective only serves to validate their perspective. You don’t treat schizophrenia by becoming schizophrenic.

I would love to experience schizophrenia so I could understand schizophrenics better tho. Experiencing it might help with knowing how to make their lives better.

You make a good point. Schizophrenia was a terrible example. That is a disease and not something people willingly sign up for.

Maybe a better example would be treating heroin addiction by going full Bubbles and becoming a heroin addict?
