Generally, I view conservative values as high-scarcity, survival-oriented; designed to help cultures thrive when pressure is high.
Liberal values are low-scarcity, and help people thrive when pressure is low. We're privileged to be able to hold liberal values.

Though you're partly correct but one can still have liberal values while being survival oriented and high scarcity.
Just having conservative views doesn't make one thrive under high pressure.

It is privileged to think people should have access to health care without paying for it. In high pressure societies there's not a ton of excess to be able to outright care for each other to that degree.

people would probably describe me as liberal rather than conservative, and I consider myself pretty high-scarcity and survival-oriented. idk if alien outsider types have much of a choice on this front. I don't have any single ingroup I can solidly trust to take care of me
