Doesn’t track. My entire life it has been the right that has been telling us we are sinful. The “party of morals”, the Christian Coalition, moral wedge issues like abortion arms stem cell research. Each camp has their own brand.

I hear you. I’ve run into near zero aggression from the left, and tons from the right. The left has traditionally been the “big tent” inclusionary group in my lived experience, and the woke trend is quite recent. IMO each group has its own brand of shaming the “sinful”.

Totally. I think shame is newer and ascendant for the Left, but I just can’t square Sam’s framing when, for my entire existence, it is the Right that was branding others as sinful to the point of radical intolerance. Left catching up but not there yet imho.
