The reason why the semantics stuff is important from the trans side of things, is that it affects how we will actually be treated in practice. It’s not independent of everything else like it seems you’re implying.

We have those terms and use them when we need them. What trans people and allies are mostly saying is use the umbrella term (“man”, “woman”, etc. without additional qualifiers) when that’s actually the relevant one, which is the vast majority of the time.

I believe trans and enby people should be afforded full rights, access to bathrooms, easy access to transition, and social acceptance, and use of preferred pronouns if people have the ability to. I still object to nearly all of the semantics involved in trans discourse.

Yeah, and you’re kind of an exception in that from what I’ve seen, no offence. Most people with your objections to the semantics very strenuously object to at least one of those things. I’ve also seen people claim to support those things but in practice end up not doing so.
