We've done it guys. Racism is back, but this time it's totally ok for... Reasons!

If Proposition 16 passes, it would bring back affirmative action, allowing race, ethnicity and gender to be considered in awarding government contracts and in deciding admission to the state’s colleges and universities.

'Prop 16 is a constitutional amendment that would repeal Prop 209... discrimination and preferential treatment were prohibited in public employment, public education, and public contracting on account of a person's or group's race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin.'"

Lol calling affirmative action racist is like calling heart surgery assault. It kind of completely misses the point of the action in the first place. To end racism structural issues must be addressed, something AA can help mitigate.

Afaik (correct me if I"m wrong), the bill doesn't actually say anything about affirmative action. A law was passed making it illegal to discriminate on the basis of race or gender in government work, and this proposition is to repeal that law.

Yes, it is necessary to repeal the state anti-discriminatory laws to allow AA to move forward. They will still have federal anti-discriminatory laws in place though which allow for AA. Many states do not have state level anti-discriminatory laws at all.
