There's lots of ways partners attempt to restrict each other's behavior that's *not* condoned by society, and it feels sort of weird to me that in a post-birth-control era, we're okay with partners controlling each other's sexuality.

Seems like we're largely not okay with it. Anytime a man has a preference about a woman's sexuality, there is a strong "don't let him control your body!" response. Having a preference about your partner's sexuality seems rational and not immoral

I think there's an important difference here - there's a set of condoned things that men are not allowed to control, and a set of things men are allowed to control. Appearance and sexual preference are in the first category; fucking other men is in the second.
