Somewhat unlikely. I've never had an illness or injury that might have been likely to kill me, but vaccinations could certainly be one reason why that's the case.

somewhat likely. It's surprising how deadly some bacterial infections were before we had antibiotics.

If not for modern antibiotics, I likely would have died from blood poisoning due to a feline puncture wound at 13 (our cat had gotten scared of our new dog & clawed me in her haste to flee)
