an match question, obviously meant for signalling rather than genuinely asking people their relationship to racial inequality. Absolutely horrific question design regardless of your political stance!

tbf okcupid question design in general is quite bad; there's lots of questions that fail to really test for what they're trying to test for, lots of sloppy fuzziness between categories that could be really easily solved.

Loaded questions like this are especially strange...as a nonwhite person? They seem to assume that the person answering the question is always white

That's even worse than Trump's bullshit surveys. At least those let you answer "other".

Where's the "I will continue treating all people equally" option

Depending on where you live in the world, racial inequality differs drastically. And where so you start on the timeframe throughout history? All races have suffered immeasurably from others for hundreds of years, it's what's humans unfortunately do. Just be good to each other now

What do you expect on a dating site? Courtship is *all* about signaling, and questions like this allow people to efficiently eliminate likely incompatible matches.
Suppose there was this thing you care about, are you the sort of person who talks about it a lot, the sort who plans activities around it, or the sort who earns to give?
I think it's an OK question, just don't be distracted by the racial inequality thing.

The actual liberal answer isn't on there: "I will treat everyone with respect and dignity, regardless of their race, and criticize those who do not."
