The Masses Of Twitter do this thing where literally anything you do or say will be interpreted in the most unflattering light possible. I keep thinking "Oh if I just give more information people will understand", but this isn't true - people have already made up their minds.

e.g., "Nobody wants a whore" "But I've dated several people!" "That means all your relationships failed, you whore" "But I'm friends with sex workers who are in long happy marriages" "They married beta pussies" They decided the story and are reinterpreting everything to fit it.

This doesn't just happen with this topic, and not just with me - it's *so common* to see people angry, at people whose situations and lives and minds they don't know and have zero desire to get to know, to see people who prejudge and reinterpret everything you do as damned.

But people are varied, and have WIDELY, crazily different brains that process things differently, and have deeply different values, and *you would be doing the same thing if you had been born into their situation and their mind*. You are 'you' due to sheer luck.

This is just not my experience at all. I think you're doing Twitter wrong. Or, more charitably, you've optimized Twitter for other variables. If anyone is acting like this in my feed, I block them.

People get very wrapped up in their identities and narratives and take simple divergence as judgment, & the naked proximity of divergent activities inspires aggression to erect walls, for self-justification or whatever. Further, twitter is a perfect decontextualization machine.

Twitter is the ultimate vehicle in terms of unfiltered ‘will to power’. Where we battle in terms of ideas restricted in number of characters used. Like a 2020 haiku, if you will. Most think aggression wins that ‘will to power’ they miss the art and negativity haunts them always.

Have you asked yourself why you’re trying to change people’s minds about a very sensitive topic? Who is so flimsy that their world view would change after reading an angry thread from a twitter talking head?
