More and more recently I've been brushing up against angry trad twitter. It's not enough for them to prefer monogamous, traditional, sexually conservative relationships, they also want *you to do it too*, and then believe you must be secretly miserable if that's your lifestyle.

I don't get why "brains and preferences are super different" isn't a sufficient explanation, like they can't imagine some people just genuinely are happier with a different arrangement. Their starting assumption is that different = bad and if you claim otherwise you're lying.

Well, make sure you're being honest with yourself. What draws you to polygamous relationships? Is it just a way of ensuring you have multiple people who are close to you and will never leave you, since you lack close platonic friendships and community?

This is a feature of an insecure culture. They worry if too many see another option, nobody will follow their path. Not even they think they found the "truth". A secure culture believes they've found the truth and would not care what you do. They got no faith in their own faith.
