Why do African immigrants do better in the US than African Americans? I'm trying to find sources for income/educational attainment of immigrants *when they come over*, but am only finding sources of *what they have today*.

No; based on what I'm reading, African immigrants earn less than white people but more than African Americans. African women earn more than white women, but still less than white men; African men earn less than white men, but still much more than African American men.
