Polygamy is explicitly asymmetrical (only men allowed multiple partners) so that makes total sense to me.

Exactly. In Egypt a law went on floors trying to legally allow polygamy. A woman politician suggested that women should also be allowed to have multiple husbands. The bill feel apart soon after. 🤦♂️🤦♂️

So the poor men join the violent groups like Boko haram which promises them a cheap and guaranteed wedding with a woman. So you see without women to marry countries fall apart. Sexual frustration is the reason for most of the violence in the world.

The mosu people in China have family units where children are raised by their uncle's instead of their dad's and women have multiple partners. Its an odd outlier in human history and fairly stable it seems.
