They better built than regular ones. I used a regular one for years. Then switched to mechanical because old one was starting to go. Much better experience compared to my old one. As far as lights go I don't care either way. The lights can be set to be subtle. Dislike the person

no, slow typers can learn to be fast, im against tryin to find a keyboard custom build community online oriented around serious fast typer hobbiests and only getting ppl who want A LOT OF DEPRESSION distance, so im lashing out against the mass of wrong priorities

the benefit of lots of depression distance is that it lessens the pounding on your fingertips from fast typing and thus the risk of RSI you can get different types, though; IIRC one of the colors of Cherry switches is optimized for gamers (short distance + fast repeat rate)

I type at well over 100 wpm and have written multiple novels using... mechanical keyboards. It's much, much, much more comfortable for me than anything else. Right now I'm using a Razer Huntsman Elite.
