AMA about Onlyfans - anything around the psychology behind its high demand and success! I've been in various forms of sex work for 8 years, and am currently extremely successful on Onlyfans (recently peaked at 0.03% top earners). I'll answer as many questions as I can.

Feels like OF has gone from unknown to household name in under a year. Why do you think this happened when it did?

covid + network effect? OF's been around for like... 3-4 years but it only properly picked up recently. I don't feel like I have a very good grasp on all the factors that made it happen *now*; it feels like a really huge question.

It's brought porn into the mainstream like nothing else up till now imo, so it's an interesting question why the world wasn't ready for that before. Or maybe it was but no one made it happen. It is a huge question but worth speculating on.

right - there's a lot of fascinating messaging around sex work in popular culture right now that feels like it's got a lot of information I haven't figured out how to tap into yet. I also think it's a combination of factors, not 'just' "the world is now ready for it"
