A society needs taxes to run. The problems arise when those taxes are not being used to run a proper society

Precisely. High taxes are completely okay. They could be significantly higher than they are right now, and it would be fine.....IF they were being used properly.

Yeah, why can't the price of a liveable society be that someone comes and steals your shit in a regular and predictable fashion?

I think this should be specific as to residence based vs citizenship based
resident based taxation seems like it has the potential to more directly benefits the taxee, whereas citizenship based just seems like a membership fee that you never see again

In america where taxes are not allocated to properly to benefit the people it’s theft, in other countries where taxes fund healthcare, and infrastructure etc instead of bombs and bail outs for corporations that arent even struggling, then they are price for a good society.

Agreed 100%

How many that voted "Price of a good society" think that outcome is being achieved?

We have infrastructure in place that allows food and goods to be sent to stores and that give us the ability to travel to work said stores buy food. So fairly fine. Could be better.
