Reading bout United States massacres, most of it was during the civil war; combining them together I'd guess roughly 18k lives were lost in massacres committed by both sides (but mostly the confederates). Second up you've got the California Genocide - native Americans at ~9k

I live in Missouri and there was a law on the books making it legal to kill Mormons. Even worse, I don't think the law was struck down until the 1980s.

She's likely referring to when Mormons massacred 120 emigrants at mountain meadows in Utah. Haun's Mill, where 19 Mormons were massacred in 1830s Missouri was smaller scale.

White mobs attacking black people n once prosperous black areas. 1921, Tulsa, OK. 1923, Rosewood, FL. 1917, St. Louis, MO. Unfortunately, these events happened with great frequency between 1917 and 1923.

I would be interested in this. Is there a book of massacres you are reading or are you finding this information on your own?
