Can I identify as a trans person? I don't really know how the gendersphere works; when I try to google/ask around about definitions, the answer I get is "it's up to you". I'm 'agender', which the internet says it's a form of nonbinary, and nonbinary people are considered trans.

If you truly feel like you don't align yourself w/ the gender assigned to you at birth then hey, maybe you are trans🙂it's all up to you! Some value labels, some reject it, some do their own thing, so its confusing but also makes sense since gender+dentity are so deeply personal!

It's confusing because while I might be trans by that definition, nothing else around trans messaging is anything I identify with. I present female, I am fine with people treating me as female, I have zero desire to have 'being trans' change how I'm treated.
i've had this same sort of mental block, both when it came to my gender identity and sexuality. it's just a matter of being honest with yourself, taking into account how general society will perceive u, and whether or not you'll be ok with that. /1
