Exactly. It seems like if you are male and you admit you were raped, you are admitting weakness and men (mainly due to social conditioning norms) are not supposed to admit weakness.

I don't think that explains it. It seems more likely to me that it just impacts men much less.

By legal definition, I was raped - but I didn't see it that way then nor now, so I picked "friend" because I had a close friend who had been, and she ultimately committed suicide.

Why don't you see it as rape. There is only one way that it isn't and that means both parties consented.
