sometimes people go 'aella, i think you're overreacting. SJWs are a small group of extremist activists and don't really have that much reach; most people are moderate, not radicalized. are they really worth your anger?'

It's a long explanation; this in itself isn't terrible, but I believe a terrible thing is happening to cause this and this is evidence it's spreading everywhere. Bad things only spread when they seem really good, or else they wouldn't spread.

It’s interesting that, if we plumb why this feels wrong, it’s prob bc we feel the identity of the artists *shouldnt be relevant* to the evaluation of the art. It should stand on its own. And, it still does. It’s just now the Oscars evaluate something other than the art itself.

I have spend my life as a committed Leftist (not in the USA) and this kind of bullshit liberal activism pisses me off as well. Its all about appearance or about jobs for middle class members of minorities not improving life for most people.

This is because people still think the news that is presented to them is believable Most articles include opinion as fact. We don't have many journalists any more -- just mouth pieces for the party they subscribe to :/ ...and it's "our" fault for accepting it.
