Monogamy isn't some deep intrinsic trait that you feel in your bones... it's a choice that people make so that their children have good lives.

children need parents who are committed to being there for them, spending time with them, caring for them. Children don't need parents that strictly and only romantically love 1 other adult.

Seems like a non sequitur. Most adoptive parents are monogamous. Would be interested in comparative success outcomes of children with adoptive parents vs biological parents tho.
