Polyamory is a choice for some people, but not all. I remember trying to feel bothered when I caught my first (monog) bf sexting someone else because i thought i was supposed to.. When I learned that polyamory was a thing I was like 'oh, that is obviously exactly what i am'. 1/

It's possible for someone to love two people equally in a parental way; I'm saying it's also possible to love two people equally in a romantic way, and believing there's some universal law that precludes this seems silly to me.

I thought it was pretty accepted wisdom that parents don't actually love their children equally, but don't admit it because it'd be super hurtful to their less favored children. Loving romantic partners differently seems fine to me. Probably also best kept a secret.

Equally is possible, but they love them less individually than they would if there were fewer kids. Also, most parents do have favorites.
