The hero’s journey is the backbone of almost all engaging narratives. It maps more readily onto males, as a lot of it is animated with the competitive striving to best your enemies, get the girl, and ultimately, multiply your genes. It’s compelling because it’s archetypal.

They’re now trying to shoehorn more women into the archetype, but it’s pretty cringe. Exploring female archetypes would be more interesting, Wonder Woman did that a little, so it was the least cringe of the lot.

Maybe with all your money, you could produce a majority female dialogue film. Take the men's money to sponsor feminist causes. Smart.
