I have been poor my whole life, my parents were poor, and I have just finally started making more than 400k a year after tons of high risk hard work. The thought Biden wants to punish me for this is infuriating. I worked so hard for this. I'm already paying nearly 50% in taxes!!

It feels like punishment - if I do x, (earn over a certain amount) a bad thing happens (a higher % of my money is taken away from me), and this was deliberately instituted by someone.
You know he checked income populations to make sure 400k limit wouldn't impact votes too much

guess what that giant tax cut to the top 1% in 2017 did to most? It hurt them. It hurt society AND created a big ol' deficit. So now, take those savings you got then, and reinvest them in society. Seems you have no issue benefiting from the harm of others. Let's be adults

afaik it didn't hurt society? Most of the analysis I find says it had almost no measurable impact, and that benefits it might have had were probably offset by other bad policies Trump installed.
