A bit ago an online brigade got absolutely outraged when I kept insisting I wasn't a racist. They kept saying "but everyone is informing you you are, stop denying it." Dude, a mob's insistence doesn't determine reality. I'm not a racist. There's a good chance you aren't either.

I'm not a racist. We should fight against this trend of forcing people to admit their racism like it's an original sin. It takes the power out of actual racism and forces a narrative of guilt and shame and submission on people who don't deserve it.

I would say yes but I think this is different- the mob simultaneously says all white people are racist (in a relatively innocent way) but simultaneously uses that label to get people fired from jobs. They define it like it's a a compassionate realization but use it like a weapon.
