I feel like a similar development has happened but reversed - growing up being told by men that women are annoying, emotional, and can’t be taken seriously. But then I found that people with stances outside the pride of masculinity are always more compassionate and truth seeking

I think podiuming (which is similar to how I define mansplaining) is definitely masculinity-centered. I usually feel like I’ve been taken from when a random guy vents at me. I usually feel like I’ve been given something when it’s not a guy

Could it be you see podiuming as a more aggressive act? When talking about the lady, you mention she was careful and complementary. If I understand what you are describing it as, it would be a more aggressive type of action. We tend to assign aggressive acts a masculine tag. 1/

So if I understand where you might be going, you may be applying some social conditioning to your thoughts on this. If podiuming is a more aggressive speaking style, then it would stand to reason that you'd see it as masculine. 2/

The woman was being gracious and society usually paints women in more genteel ways. Women are, in many ways, masters of getting points across in less aggressive ways. Men are often geared towards being more brash to get a point across. I see this a lot in political situations. E/

And I don't think it is your personal bias. I think it is how many of us have been geared or programmed if you will. I don't see you as stereotype driven and because of that, you may be in a quandary as to why you see it this way.
