im gonna have a breakdown - i finally stopped procrastinating to try to make a payment to the irs, but i can't - the website keeps saying my identity can't be verified. i tried to call but there's no option for my problem and i can't get to a real person. idk what to do

I had the same issue. Could not get in contact with operator for ages. Learned it's because they are super understaffed and I had to call earlier in the day to speak to someone. Hope that helps.

I would just keep calling/holding. It suck, but I think that’s the ticket. My Mom had an issue recently w/ the IRS. 1 day she couldn’t get through, the next I think she had to wait a Long while to get through. she was told 1/some offices had just reopened.
