My thought is a question: what is your intent here? I think you should try to get a sense for your intent, and then act in a way that is consistent with it. If you can't get a sense, simply create a new intent and act consistently. I don't think you can go wrong that way : ) !

My intent is this possibly resulting in higher income; talking about my income (probably not on twitter, to be clear) would drive more traffic.

Great intent! I think so long as you act in a way is consistent with it (ie: live *from* that intent) you'll get the results you're after. You can always create new intent(s) too - ultimate freedom. btw: forget about people who hate 'rich' (increasingly, useless category, IMO)
