It's not at all like that. Partly because you don't have a third option and partly because that's just a terrible metaphor.
Besides, VP is a ceromonial role anyway.

Have you done this as a poll yet? For practical reasons I would go with legs as I don’t think arm/hand prosthetics are quite there yet.

Closer to cutting off both your legs vs just a few fingers. Yeah I don’t want to lose fingers but I’m not going to spite my legs because I’m annoyed at the prospect of losing fingers.
