How do you distinguish your desire for truth from grifting? Saying controversial things is bound to bring you a lot of attention, and I'm guessing like me, you have some egoic parts that are always hungry for more of that.

yeah; i've been introspecting on that part of me. I think it comes from an anger that people are angry at me, and trying to say innocent things to make them angry to demonstrate that they're wrong for getting angry.

Right - but I think those issues can just be solved by saying more true things. If enough true things are said and accepted then the implications won't be misleading.

Yeah. I had a hard time in grad school not saying controversial things I didn't think should be controversial. By this I mean I said them, and it often got me in trouble. Often it was just asking basic questions.
