I had the exact same thought and then I looked a little closer at the numbers. 0.1% of 7.8B is 7.8M people. The US has roughly 500k politicians (~0.167%). So if this was to be scaled worldwide that would eliminate more than 2/3rds, but powerful countries would be affected more.

Most people are over-estimating how much power individuals have, and under-estimating the power of social structures it seems. Maybe you've never been bullied?

Fav for the first part,despite the question you end on being completely beside the point (I can imagine why you might think it isn't,but not everyone who got bullied will automatically understand the social structures involved or see them as the primary problem)
