I wonder if feels like she gets instantly read as high status nerd (seems so to me, but maybe hard to distinguish from reputation). She dresses like neither a Barbie nor a trad but often really pretty and feminine in a few other aesthetics.

Haha fair. Reputation makes it hard to tell. If it's not just that, I would actually bet that your clothing might do some of the work, in that it signals more hippie-ish/interesting than barbie or trad might.
