I think it’s about 1/6th in US/Canada. Not sure the research can be extrapolated to other languages.

I had to teach myself to not subvocalize to read faster in college. Took practice, but I can turn it in and off now

If I’m reading recreationally I purposely read slower and allow dialogue to play out in my head in “real time.” Otherwise I read faster.
