I OFTEN call something by one name, and only afterwards notice that it is the other. 🤦♂️
I don't notice tops much -- up to and including whether they're attached to the bottoms.

When I was a kid I thought dress = long, skirt = short, like with pants and shorts. I learned the difference eventually.
