Because as soon as you start defining what hate speech is then that can be abused.

I think "hate speech" is a stupid thing to be made illigal as it just turns being a bad person or being edgy into an illigal act. Also what offends people can even be down to a person by person basis.

I agree with the comments. What is hate speech? Who gets to define hate speech? Does it incite violence or put someone in danger?
