I think homeschooling is a lot higher variance than public schooling. I am seeing more issues with gifted and students who skip a year. My kids have all been rated gifted and the teachers in their old school district would treat them badly and if they needed assistance, they usually got a resentful rebuke of "but your gifted. You should know this."

As for you, I'm surprised because you are very worldly and, IMO, extremely well versed in most matters. Was that more your own desire for knowledge or a change in schooling methods?

I mean my education hasn't stopped; it started out with typical homeschooling but i continued to read about whatever interested me well into adulthood.
