Reddit's switch to banning all subs that aren't ideologically "correct" is absolutely terrifying to me. Something really big and bad is happening in society and suddenly the idea that an actual revolution of some sort is in our future is way more realistic.

Go for it! Express how you feel- it’s not dumb! It’s ireprehensible that it’s taking away places for people to discuss things they don’t see eye to eye on- how can we make progress without discussion and exploration...

No, with any luck, we're headed back towards the middle from the right wing corporate fuelled one we live in right now.

Open internet is dead. My 5yo daughter won’t be going to kindergarten. We need to pray (as atheists) that the fucking Republicans keep a slender senate majority. Things are messed up, I feel you. Oh & it would be nice to have some perspective from Scott A right now

hypothetically; what if nothing happens except that those subreddits relocate? It's possible that nothing else happens. How does this reshape your opinion of the decision, if at all?

it’s weird because you usually have a very detached unemotional position about things I have feelings about, and that is completely reversed here; just making this observation feels like a role reversal

Other details to hate: 2 types of white washing, IMO: 1. Banning tons of tiny subs then saying "99% bans weren't even active" 2. Lumping in r/Cumtown and Chapo to not seem partisan Then there's the new policy being explicit about asymmetric enforcement:https://twitter.com/thesafestspace/status/1277699038431850499 …
