holy shit and also r/lgbtdropthet. I sub to a lot of weird fringe subreddits from all over the political spectrum and a lot of them are getting banned even though they weren't hurting anybody. This is really upsetting.

She is keeping informed. She isn't anti-trans herself. She just follows all kinds of extremist viewpoint communities to calibrate herself afaik. She was very sheltered growing up so this is how she handles herself now.

This is true; I sub to a wide variety of radical and extremist subreddits from opposite sides of a lot of spectrums.
It's probably a good idea to do that anyway, you have to find your middle ground somehow right?
