i wonder how much internet-specific trauma this generation has from being the first crop of kids that grew up under non-internet parents

Trauma? I feel very lucky that I had spaces to explore as a kid that my parents couldn't access or even understand. I feel like our generation is both savvy about the internet's dangers (unlike older people) and protective of online independence (unlike social media Zoomers).

Have we explored the fact that Gen Z is the first generation to grow up with their *parents* on social media?
It must be a lot harder to have a hierarchical social dynamic when mom and dad post selfies and shitposts too, no?
They see their vanity and flaws like anyone else.

not sure exactly what you’re referring to but I suspect this is an incorrect use of the word trauma

Personal experience-wise, the worst things I blindly encountered were probably a lot smaller than what others have come across and were passed around by word of mouth in school.

100% there are parents that roast and shit post their own kids which can backfire later on in that kids life. also parents can stalk their children on social media meaning they see all that you do if you post as well

Two generations will be highlighted forever in history texts. The first digital kids that grew up under non-internet parents, and the last to remember growing up with no internet at all. Hello, future textbooks.
