I too had a phase of apostasy in my life.
To lose one's faith is tragedy. To try to take it from others is cruelty.

One of my biggest issues with some who are devoutly “religious” is their air of “omniscient self-righteousness.”

The old atheist mantra that freedom consists in the mental repudiation of God. However renunciation of God gives us the devil for a father; true freedom then is to be free from sin. And of course it was sin that made us abandon (not 'lose') our faith. Stay close to Christ always.

"What the nonreligious get wrong a lot of the time is the idea that if you can just lead a Christian along the right logical path, they will realize that they are wrong. This is generally bullshit."
god I wish people would understand this about literally anything lol

I had a similar journey out of the Mormon Church. I wish more people had similar first-handed thinking.
