of anti-trans fears (e.g., public toilets) is overblown due to the effects of estrogen on sex drive and behavior, and I think fully passing trans women are not really that meaningfully different than actual women and it doesn't make sense to make a big deal out of the difference.

"trans women aren't real women" nobody's saying they're the same as cis women, but trans women are – yes – "real women" after some time transitioned, the lived reality of a trans woman, day-to-day, has a lot more in common with that of a cis woman than a cis man, no?

What is a "real" women? Im very very tired of this argument. The whole thing with being trans is that you dont identify with the gender assigned at birth so saying "uR nOt a rEaL woMAn" seems a little redundant.

I think trans women are women, but agree someone can respect trans rights even if they think trans beliefs are false (or even harmful). Analogy: I think Muslims have false & harmful beliefs, but anti-Muslim discrimination & bigotry are widespread & horrible and must be stopped.

The literature suggests that transitioning rarely causes trans people to feel better about their situation, and in many cases make it worse because they will expect a specific result and when that doesn't happen they feel even more hopeless.
