Because so much of the 'trump is bad' circlejerk was absolutely fucking retarded, done in bad faith with gleeful misinterpretation of facts, I felt like I couldn't trust any of it, and so it took me waaay longer to come to the conclusion that trump is in fact bad.

The question isn't whether he is bad, it's whether there are any viable better candidates for the job. I've no doubt there are, but none have been put forward.

I also am sympathetic to arguments that, while Trump is horrible, Biden is worse. I personally don't really agree though - I think I'd prefer a semi-competent person I disagree with driving the ship than an incompetent person I disagree with slightly less

From what I've seen Biden just isn't all there 🤷‍♂️ Not saying I can vouch for Trump's mental state 100% either, but it doesn't seem *impaired* in any meaningful way.

Agree Trump can appear incompetent, but his main foible seems to be being too frank, and the almost naive impression that he can just say whatever is on his mind. Some people will find that refreshing, even if it is not statesmanlike.

I have little doubt whoever runs things should Biden win (as seems probable) will be competent at *something*. But I can't fathom anyone legit thinking Biden himself is remotely competent at this point. Did you mean the former or you no think he well is on his way to dementia?

This is not an argument about who to vote for, btw. While I think Trump has & will likely continue to be less awful than the alternative, I figure we're screwed either way and can't fault anyone for going whichever way.
