have a knockoff roomba from xiaomi, it's kinda cute but eh, it seems to miss stuff. dyson vacuum (I have an old 2nd-hand model from a friend – v6?) is where it's at for me. light, actually kinda fun to use and catches everything

I have a knock off brand. I love it. Though admittedly you have to watch it cause it likes to get tangled in the cables.

I'm very satisfied! Experience: 1. In a small apartment I found the randomly moving robot to be fine. I have a cheap Eufy, which is $160 on amazon. Its biggest problem is I don't have the recommended room for it to auto-dock, so I pick it up https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-robot-vacuum/ …

2. I got my parents the upgrade pick (iRobot Roomba 960). They really love it, especially for getting under beds which are a PITA to clean. You probably want something with mapping capabilities for a house-sized place

Mine does a great job and serves as a forcing function to tidy up a bit before it runs.

In my experience, they are too finicky re: edges of carpets and the like. I have switched to a Dyson cordless and am never going back.

Had a roomba for several years. Works OK IF you don't have long hairs. Mine died when my girlfriend moved in. Another important thing to know is that it will work significantly better on uniform surfaces rather than old wooden floor or carpet.

The new ones work much better than the early generations, but I still have to run the real vacuum weekly.
