Slavery, historically, has often not been among racial lines.
It has been historically against the 'outgroup'. In the US, black skin was a very easy indicator of this outgroup.
Slavery was done because it was profitable, and permissable because it was the outgroup.

My recent tweets have been in the context of people trying to redefine the word 'racism' to mean 'systemic racism', which as far as I'm aware is largely a US discussion and is in the context of race-based slavery and heavily influenced by skin tone.

Your use of "outgroup" disguises and conceals what is at the heart of slavery and racism - the belief that certain people were savages, less than human and could be treated as animals. Saying it was all about profits is irritating as hell.
