The attempt to redefine racism away from the dictionary definition into the "systemic privilege" one is, imo, an attempt to remove the intensely horrible associations with actual racism, to minimize its harms, and to provide a socially acceptable avenue for its practice.

It was black people in Africa who captured the other black people and sold them to white people.
-
Would they have done this if the market wasn't there? If colonizing countries never bought slaves, black people in Africa would not have captured them to sell them. THINK

Liberia was a pipe dream and basicly a "back to africa" false flag. Rather than deal with discontent or deal with problems they moved, which is a stupid move, They basicly saw what white people had at the time and tried to copy it, there was also "token support" from the US.

Because from the inside, people who are being racist feel like they're not. They have reasons for why it's justified, or not really racism. And that should absolutely *terrify* you. We should keep the definition of racism free from justifications or 'not really racism.'

There has been considerable scholarship about the beginning of slavery in the colonies, why Africans were enslaved and whites and natives were not, and all the related subjects. It is more complex than is tweetable. Slavery was common in Europe, Rome and Africa for many years.
-
But slavery did not really exist in England at the time the colonies were founded, it was re-created here because of labor shortages in tobacco farming and other areas.

Blacks were enslaved because native Americans and whites couldn't handle that kind of heavy labor in tropical conditions. They died too quickly. Sub-Saharan Africans have adaptations that allowed them to survive those conditions. It was a business decision. Sad but true.
-
Wait.. Your saying people that were native to tropical climate were not able to do hard labour in their own land? Wonder how the mayans built those pyramids?
