Only relationship I had with dad was fear. No connection. Didn’t realize how important a father figure/mentor is until seeing my adult friends interact with their parents. Mind blown 🤯 that you could have a deep convo with ur parents.

This is so sad. My dad wasn't the best dad. He didn't have a role model, but he tried and I miss him every day now that he's gone.
I struggle every day to be good dad, even more so as a step-dad. I fail mostly, but I keep trying.

oh shit I just got home first time in 6 days and forgot to send my dad a hello and it's late there now! He probably doesn't feel bad (not a big holiday person and forgets my birthday and will not tell me his coz he'd rather I forget and wasn't raised by him but still) but I do!
