The list of demands posted by CHAZ are ridiculous and obviously written by people who are bad at thinking. Alternatively, here's a list of proposed revisions by someone who is extremely good at thinking:

I was with him til point 2 - the union busting point police departments need to be internally democratized and demilitarized - unionization is a big part of that if anything, police departments need stronger unions, with the right to strike and less ties with management

Point 4 would disqualify almost all women from police work - what else can you do if an unarmed 250lb man starts punching you? Maybe this is a worthwhile tradeoff for lower police shootings...

I favor the reforms listed, and they would be a lot better than nothing, but they only obliquely address the fact that in many places, police are seen *and see themselves* as an occupying force, not a source of assistance. Until that is address directly, the problems will remain

Apparently not because he doesn't realize that things like civilian oversight already exist and are ignored, quotas are outlawed in several states and are ignored, and that private police barely exist in the US and chiefly are not the cause of the current problems.

How about not caving to any of the “demands” and instead just watch — popcorn in hand — while they find out that it’s not so easy to create a workable town much less a nation. I think it will be loads of fun.

I have high expectations for Eliezer and felt pretty let down by this. There are some good ideas in there but overall I think it displays a conspicuous lack of empathy for the actual difficulties of policing in America.
