Thoughts:
1. I'm *extremely* impressed. She knows what's going to happen to her for posting it and is doing it anyway. That plus the compassion and nuance makes me an instant fan.
2. I wish she'd put a little more word count into steelmanning the radical trans position. 1/

3. She seemed to miss that men are victims of sexual assault at really high rates too.
The last two are minor complaints under the shadow of her MASSIVE BALLS tho so give it a read.
Honestly I do not blame her at all. After I've gotten twitter cancelled a few times I am way more sympathetic to stuff like that.

I'm offended there is no feminine counterpart for noting that someone has balls.

I would urge everyone to read the section of one of Rowling’s detective novels that deals with a trans woman. The depiction is so bad, so uncaring and flatly negative, that I cannot believe she has any love for trans people whatsoever.

I'm guessing she's been challenged on her stances on trans issues by people she respects, so she's thought them through. But she's clearly dismissed all challenged to her feminism out of hand, and her stances on misogyny are ridiculous.

Rowlong brings up autism and I don't think it's my lane to talk abouy that. But I did see this.

So, I've not read Rowling's transphobic manifesto, because fuck putting myself through that, but my mentions make it clear she's used the "Autistic people are being tricked into being they're trans by the evil trans lobby because they' don't know better" arguement, right? ...

"seemed to miss"
Nah, she still hates The Pesky Men, so this isn't something she can "miss". She outright believes men are the devil, going about on their oppressive ways all day.

Her finally standing up to this horseshit has given me a modicum of hope that maybe other actual liberals (in the traditional sense of the word) will finally stop being cowards and stand up for their beliefs instead of bowing to the vocal minority.

read it previously and came by to see your take on it. her post is really good, grounded, empathetic, and still firm. that the issue informs the medical work of some of her foundations/causes seems an important part of her motivation.
