So I am actually kind of sympathetic - I frequent the police subreddit so i get to see the police side whenever a video goes viral. i've seen also a few scary videos that make me understand why police seem to be so freaking defensive. That said:

It's common for people have had encounters with police who have attitude problems, even in times where there's no actual threat. I can think of one instance of my sister who made a silly face at a police officer and then they *followed her in their car* to pull her over for-

Also! I do a lot of things that I consider to be genuinely good for humanity. I do psychedelics and sex work. I personally get a bolt of terror whenever I see a man in uniform.

Because even *if* he's one of the "good guys" who won't get pissed at you if you disrespect him, he's still going to use force to enforce a law that prevents me from doing what I want even if it's involving 100% consenting parties who are hurting nobody.
