There's something about what's going on in the world that triggers something more visceral in me. I feel more afraid, angry, tribal. I am absolutely terrified of how I see everyone responding. It's not really what they say as much as the frames they use to say it.

I have such a strong senation that I need to fight this really hard, like everything in me is screaming NO at the world, but I don't know what to do except maybe move. Because the fear in me makes inelegant tweets, so I mostly try to not explode with the words I want to.

I've lived there before! Really likes it, but state 10% income tax. Which I know California isn't much better but if I'm gonna move I want something lower tax.

Yeah I hear you. I guess depending on your income the lower rent/housing don’t offset the taxes enough. I hope you find a good alternative!

no income tax though plus “real city” fwiw... good for internet-based solopreneneurs I’ve heard but only anecdotally

Yeah same. I am afraid of cities where I think it might be hard to find community. On the plus side tho Vegas is pretty sex work friendly!

I moved to Phoenix from the Bay Area last year. It’s been a downgrade as most outdoor recreation is curtailed in the summer, but its servicable as a place to live and significantly cheaper. Most importantly, it’s been easier for me to find career-level employment here.
